My Journey

September 2024

Starting a small business

My love for sewing started in childhood, inspired by my grandmother and her antique sewing machine.  She has always been a creative spirit for as long as I can remember.

After months of planning, Gigi Rosy Designs, LLC has finally come to life in our cozy Orange, VA home, fueled by endless ideas and a passion for excellence. Alongside  Instagram@CreationsbyDGB, our first small business founded 11 years ago, this new venture gives my sewn products their own cohesive space under the Gigi Rosy Designs, LLC name. Surrounded by bolts of fabric and sewing notions I’ve treasured for years, I’m excited to start creating beautiful pieces and enjoying the process.

December 2024

First product launch

My first bag product debut was a box zipper pouch, along with other sewn home décor items, at a small school craft show at Culpeper Christian School in Culpeper. That checkered light green pouch became my very first sale to a vendor/customer at the event, and I’m so grateful to her for believing in my product.

February 2025

Product line expansion

Alongside other sewn decor pieces, this time I’ve focused more on making accessories like book sleeves, key fobs, and pouches in different sizes. Ideas keep pouring in as I get ready for the craft show season, sharing and showcasing my work with the community. We secured a spot at one of the biggest East Coast shows, “Christmas in July” at the Fredericksburg Convention Center, as early as January 2025. Every product is made in small batches while juggling a full-time job.

July 2025

As a fulltime designer and maker

Unplanned, yet meant to be. Overwhelmed but hopeful. July 7 marked my first day as a full-time designer and maker. Countless ideas rushed in, a mix of excitement and fear. Uncertainty began to take shape. My book planner and pen became my closest companions, helping me carefully map out the path of this new adventure.  My husband and son are my biggest supporters in this new adventure.

I began planning to reach a larger target market by booking county festivals, convention shows, and local craft events.

December 2025

Time to evaluate and reflect

Over the past few months of joining both small and large shows and festivals, I’ve picked up valuable lessons for future events. Not every experience was ideal, but each one taught me something worthwhile. As the year wraps up, I plan to reflect on each event, noting the pros and cons, so I can head into 2026 feeling confident, productive, and ready to make this journey a success.
